Dear Irina Sagradova, In my previous reply to your request, I
put it very clear to you "that we Assyrians living abroad will be better off if
you could resolve your conflict and speak with one voice in Armenia. It is
really up to the Assyrians in Armenia to decide about the monument and what
ever their final decision is, I will support it.” I am very disappointed to see my name
and my organization’s name mentioned within the list of people against the
recent sculpture of the Assyrian Genocide monument organized by Assyrian Association "Atur”
in Yerevan. Please show the minimum respect
and remove my name and my organization’s name immediately from your list.
I don’t want my name and my organization name to be used by you or anybody else
without my consent. I don’t want to take part in your so
called "commission” and once again: It is up to the Assyrians of Armenia to
decide about the future genocide monument they want , I and my organization
Seyfo will support whoever will accomplish this project. Sabri Atman

Dear Sabri Atman, I have been surprised,
when has read your letter, because I thought that you are consecutive in your
actions. First, in the letter about which you mention, so I
explained, that in the Assyrian community of Armenia there is no conflict. Secondly, we not understood too, why foreign Assyrians
instead of Assyrians of Armenia solved a question connected with a monument.
Moreover, I think you knew about such situation. The third, as foreign Assyrians already take part in
this project, we have organized the Commission already to involve in this
project and Assyrians of Armenia. Moreover, in order to correct a situation
we have given to publicity of details of the project, which are unacceptable. Fourthly, very sorry, that you think, that someone
uses your name and your organization's name. In addition, I want to inform
you, what because of you we were late with the publication of this article.
The opinion was expressed, that your name in list of Commission only will
prevent open work of the Commission. However, I have respect for you and that
is why I have insisted in order that your name was included in lists. Fifthly, I hope you remember, that I asked your
consent about inclusion your name in list of the Commission. Your letter
contained the text:
"Dear Irina, Thank you very much for the message. Yes, of course I remember you. Thank you for wanting me to be part of
the committee/commission for the Genocide Monument in Yerevan. I will be
happy if I can assist in any way possible for this great project. Can you please let me know what the
plans are so far? From your message, it seems the design is not final yet.
When will you open and close the competition for the design? When the
unveiling is scheduled for and will I be invited to attend the unveiling? Regards, Sabri Atman, SEYFO CENTER"
If you have decided not
to be in the commission, why you have not warned me earlier?
Sixthly, I would like, that you did not offend me and
members of the Commission who are the deserved people. Please show the
minimum respect and about the commission, you have to express more
respectfully. Your misunderstanding of this situation does not grant to you
the right to express about members of the Commission disrespectfully. In
addition, I hope, that you have understood, that I do not have necessity to
use someone for something. Seventhly, I have sent you article, and you only in a
week inform me on the desire not to be in the Commission. And why you waited
week? When already article is published, you have suddenly decided to inform
me on your desire. And how I will erase your name from published article?
I have already removed
you from the Commission list. Moreover, in article, which will be published,
in future your name is not present. Sincerely, Irina Gasparyan, President of Federation of Assyrian organizations of Armenia «Khayadta»,
the member of Coordination Council on affairs of national minorities
at the office of the President of Republic of Armenia
